The neurologist and entrepreneur Ignacio Hernández Medrano was honored with the Fundació? N Princesa de Girona (FPdGi) Prize 2019 at an event held at the Auditorium Palace of Congresses Gran Canaria presided by King Felipe VI before more than 500 people.
The director of Facebook generates Spain and president of the jury, Irene Caro, assessed the ability of the winner to take advantage of his experience as a neurologist creating a business project that uses technology to improve medical research and the quality of patient care.
For all this, the jury considered that Savana, the company promoted by Ignacio Hernández Medrano, "generates predictive models that anticipate the best medical performance before a patient, extracting clinical knowledge until now underutilized ".
In addition to Irene Caro, the jury it was composed by the Prix FPdGi Empresa 2017, Damià Tormo; the economist Fernando Ferna? ndez; the founder of Rusticae and PlanetEat and Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum Carlota Mateos; the founder of Kiboventures Aquilino Peña, the entrepreneur and entrepreneur Bernardo Hernández and the mathematician and economist, Ce? sar Molinas.
Organized by the FPdGi in collaboration with the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, the event also included the presence from the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, the Minister of Education Isabel Celaá, the President of the Island Corporation, Antonio Morales, the Delegate of the Government in the Canary Islands, Elena Máñez, and the President of the FPdGi, Francisco Belil, as well as winners and patrons of the entity, among other authorities and personalities of civil society and the business sector of the Archipelago.
