The University Hospital of Gran Canaria Dr. Negrín, center attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, has made this Saturday, October 20, the work necessary to introduce a new magnetic resonance in the hospital, for which it has been necessary to use a crane.
For this reason, from Friday and until this Sunday, the north access road will be closed from the ring road and the roundabout. While the indicated works are being carried out, the access of the Alfonso Chiscano street, as well as the accesses to the parkings of External Consultations and Urgencies are kept open.
The magnetic resonance, which is incorporated into the Radiodiagnosis service of the hospital center, was awarded by the company Siemens Healthcare, S.L.U. for 1.112.870 euros, whose cost will be reimbursed by the Amancio Ortega Foundation. In this way, the hospital center proceeds to the renovation of the equipment related to the diagnosis and treatment of the Cancer. To this new technology we must add a new biplane digital angiography system, acquired by the Canary Islands Health Service, as well as a TAC and a next-generation simulator TAC for the Radiation Oncology service that is also part of the donation made by the Amancio Ortega Foundation.
