The National Court agrees the delivery to the US for drug trafficking of the Venezuelan military who points to Podemos

The Criminal Chamber of the National Court has agreed to enforce the delivery of the Venezuelan military officer Hugo Armando “El Pollo” Carvajal to the United States once the Ministry of the Interior has rejected the request for asylum for the second time and, therefore, the administrative decision has become final.

The decision of the Third Section of the Criminal Chamber, chaired by Alfonso Guevara, occurs the day after it transcends the decision of the head of the Central Court of Instruction number 6, Manuel García Castellón, to reopen a case against Podemos with information facilitated by the former head of the military intelligence of Hugo Chávez on an alleged irregular financing of the party.

In order to use the information from 'Pollo Carvajal', which the United States also attributes to belong to a criminal organization, García Castellón reopened a case filed in 2016 for referring with newspaper clippings to a dossier prepared by the PP political brigade against the party directed then by Pablo Iglesias.

In a ruling issued today, the magistrates of the Third Section agree that the defendant remains at the disposal of the International Police Cooperation Unit, which must carry out the delivery and release official notice to the General Subdirectorate for International Legal Cooperation, as well as to the director of the penitentiary center. in which the claimed one is located. Before the reopening of the case against Podemos was revealed, the Ministry of the Interior had already informed Carvajal's lawyers yesterday that it was firmly denying his asylum application.

Now, Carvajal's lawyers will be able to file an appeal before the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the National Court and request extremely precautionary measures to avoid the immediate delivery of their client. Legal sources explain to elDiario.es that such an initiative through contentious-administrative matters does not immediately affect the decision of the Criminal Chamber to deliver the 'Pollo' Carvajal to the United States.
