The Municipal Symphonic Band dedicates a concert to Galds - La Provincia

Under the title Galdós in Quegles, the Municipal Symphonic Band of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will offer a concert tomorrow Friday, January 24, which will bring the figure of Benito Pérez Galdós.

From 7.30 pm, and under the baton of its artistic director, German Arias, the musical group will perform in the courtyard of the Rodriguez Quegles Palace (Pérez Galdós, 4) a selection of pieces that have a link with the life and work of the author of the National Episodes.

The concert, included in the program of activities of the centenary of the death of Galdós - music lover and music critic in its beginnings -, includes three pieces by Ruperto Chapí, with whom the grancanario maintained a professional relationship and close friendship: the Prelude of The homeland girl, the Overture of The grenadier drum and the Prelude of The Revolt. In addition, the Band will perform Ensueño y Orgía de las Fantastic dances of Turina, The Fire Dance of Benamor by Pablo Luna and Canarian caprice from Falcón Sanabria.

Admission to attend the concert is free until capacity is reached.
