The Movement for Self-Determination and Independence of the Canary Archipelago (MPAIAC) is not dead, far from it.
Pedro A. Medina Calerogeneral secretary of the MPAIAC, has launched this Monday a manifesto in which he proposes to promote the movements in the international arena to achieve that self-determination of the Canary Islands.

The following can be read in the statement: «The Movement for the Self-determination and Independence of the Canary Archipelago (MPAIAC), as the only movement for the liberation of
Canary Islands officially recognized by the African Union (AU),
since 1968announced in December 2020, in Las Palmas de GC, the resumption of its international activity in favor of the Declaration of the Canary Islands Archipelago as a Non-Self-Governing Territory (TNA), by the UN General Assembly (UNGA), a process initiated by the MPAIAC in 1974 after a meeting held in
Algiers with the UN Decolonization Committee (Committee-24) and interrupted in April 1978 due to the terrorist attack perpetrated by the Spanish State against our former Secretary General, Antonio Cubillo, in the Algerian capital, when a delegation from the MPAIAC, headed by him, was going to travel to New York, accompanied by the Secretary General of the OAU, to promote said Declaration.

Our international activity was restarted by contacting several progressive Member States of the
UNGA who support your Mandateapproved for the Fourth Decade (2021-2030) for the Eradication of Colonialism, in the 76 Period of Sessions, which began in September 2021.

As a result of this international work, the
Summit of Heads of State of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP), held in Caracas in June 2021, officially assumed as its own the resolutions of the Bicentennial Congress of the Peoples, also held at the same time in Caracas, with the participation of a Delegation from the MPAIAC , including the recognition of the Right of Self-determination of the People of the Canary Islands. Also, in June 2021,
el MPAIAC delivered a 'Dossier on the colonial situation of the Canary Islands' at the Substantive Meeting of the Committee-24 held in New York, and in August 2021 at the Caribbean Regional Seminar of the Committee-24, in Dominica«.

Likewise, Pedro Medina points out that "the MPAIAC
has resumed its international activity in our continent, initiated with the support of the progressive member countries of the
african unityled by Algeria, which has shown such support since 1968, a decade before the Saharawi conflict was declared.

We understand that the reactivation of our
Agenda Panafricana cannot be postponed in the face of the resurgence of the aforementioned wars in the Sahara and the Sahel, instigated by the US and NATO, in order to maintain their domination in our geopolitical area, which -as has been said- we must actively combat, for the
Canary Neutrality and our refusal to become an imperialist and colonial logistics platform, as our only possible contribution to the
World peacefrom this region of Northwest Africa in which we have had to live«.
