The 2018-2019 Income campaign has started with several new features. According to estimates, one out of every four income tax returns will be returned this year due to the flood of tax changes that will benefit families, low incomes and fathers and mothers who paid for their benefits. Next to these fiscal winks, which will trigger refunds in 454 million euros to 10,468 million for 14,314 million respondents, that is, each one will receive 731 euros on average. So that it does not get lost, we explain below the main points, to take into account in our annual appointment with the Treasury:
Maternity and paternity benefit
One of the factors that benefits numerous taxpayers is the return of the IRPF charged in 2018 to maternity and paternity benefits, following the ruling of the Supreme Court that ruled in favor of taxpayers. Although the Tax Agency stopped withholding the tax on benefits after October, when the decision of the High Court was made, there were prior permits to those that did receive the IRPF.: those who decided not to opt for retention zero waiting for what the Justice decided.
Regarding the amounts (return plus interest), up to now, taxpayers with the right to return have received 1,300 euros on average. Specifically, mothers have charged 2,012 euros on average, compared to 470 euros on average that parents have perceived. Figures higher than the Government's forecasts, which calculated the average return of women at 1,600 euros and 383 euros for men. These figures are calculated from previous requests to the Income statement, for previous years.
Another novelty is the extension to 600 euros per child per year -50 monthly- for the deduction in the IRPF of large families for each offspring from the fourth, this included. A wink that will distribute 11 million euros this year among 50,111 taxpayers through the so-called model 143. For example, a large family with 4 children can be deducted up to 1,800 euros; another with 5, up to 2,400 euros; and another with 6, up to 3,000 euros. They will be taken into account from August 2018, when the accounts for 2018 came into effect, to December.
Persons with disabilities in charge
Something similar will happen with the new IRPF deduction for a dependent disabled spouse, which adds 1,200 euros per year -One hundred monthly- provided that it does not have incomes of more than 8,000 euros through model 122. In this sense, 180 million euros will be distributed this year 312,679 contributors and the last five months of last year will also be taken into account.
Where there is no change is in the nursery check, since it could not be requested in advance and will assume that next year in the income statement the deduction for maternity can be extended by one thousand euros per child from zero to three years for 346,998 taxpayers with an annual cost of two65 million euros for public coffers. This aid will contemplate the twelve months of 2018. In this case, the families must confirm that the data that the Tax Agency will include in the draft is correct: the nursery has had to request the check and each community authorized the center to meet the requirements. requirements of this help.
Portfolio of securities
Among the novelties that the Treasury incorporates, it is worth mentioning the portfolios of listed securities. If before they had to incorporate by hand the historical prices of the securities in the portfolio at the beginning of the year, now the Tax Agency automatically incorporates them with the possibility that the declarant modifies them if there is an error.
It also keeps in a database available to consult the information of previous exercises. If the taxpayer has carried out operations of this type in 2018, it will be included in the summary of declarations. Within the link to the epigraph Portfolio of securities, the prices of the shares will be accompanied by three colors: one red if it is necessary to incorporate a historical purchase price, another yellow if the information in the portfolio should be reviewed and another green if the Treasury notes that everything is in order.
Salaries between 14,000 and 18,000 euros
Also, for those who earn between 14,000 and 18,000 euros, the Treasury will return what was retained from the previous year. The 2018 Budgets included a reduction of about 440 euros on average for 3.5 million taxpayers that have a salary in this fork. For this reason, it is advisable to check the Tax Agency's website if the Treasury should return it or not.
