The Mossos dismiss an agent for hitting a young man in the face who broke curfew

The Mossos have removed an agent from his duties for having beaten a young man on the street in Barcelona on Friday night after the curfew began. In a video it is seen how the policeman, after a brief discussion with that man – who is accompanied by others – hits him in the face, knocks him to the ground and detains him with the help of two more officers.

The body has reported this Monday of the opening of a reserved information to analyze the police action and determine the initiation of a disciplinary file. The incident occurred on the night from Friday to Saturday, around 00:30 am in the Plaza del Pes de la Palla, in the Raval of Barcelona.

The detainee was charged with an alleged crime of attack against law enforcement officers and injuries. He went to court Saturday morning and was released on charges. He was part of a group of 12 people who consumed alcoholic beverages and did not comply with the mobility restriction, according to the Catalan police.

The detached agent was part of an endowment of the Regional Area of ​​Operational Resources of the Metropolitan Police Region of Barcelona, ​​which at that time was ensuring compliance with the measures against COVID-19.
