The More Plural Platform launches a campaign against the Celaá law

The More Plural Platform yesterday presented its campaign against the Celaá Law, the Lomloe, considering that “it violates rights recognized in the Constitution, progressively reduces the model of concerted education and threatens educational plurality”, Jesús Muñoz de Priego.

The spokesman for the aforementioned group, assured that the Celaá Law casts doubt on the survival of special education centers and relegates religion to a second-class subject, condemning its teachers to unemployment. “This Law, processed without consensus, rejects any attempt to reach a State Pact for Education.”

More plural, freer, more equal. Towards a truly inclusive school, with everyone and for everyone, is the title of the campaign undertaken by the aforementioned Platform, to which the parents ‘associations Cofapa and Concapa, the unions Fsie and Feuso, the employers’ Escuelas Católica, Cece, Fundació Escola Cristiana de Catalunya and the entities Ven y Verás, EnLibertad, Yo Libre, Reli es Más, Fedma and Free to Choose.

Muñoz de Priego explained that this is not the time to address a legislative change in reference to the fact that the Celaá Law is currently being debated in Parliament “in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, when it is not the time to debate anything.”


“The educational community is now in what it has to be, which is to try to alleviate the negative effects of this pandemic at all levels, working hand in hand with the Administrations, the centers, the teachers and the families to move forward with the educational challenges and social issues that this delicate moment poses ”.

For all these reasons, the Platform denounces that the educational community has been withdrawn from “the healthy and democratic” debate that must accompany the approval of any law. “Social and participatory democracy has ceased to be so effectively and fully in recent months.”

More Plurals accuses the Government of accelerating the Law without debate or consensus, and introducing far-reaching changes. “Some changes that lead to the systemic dominance of the State, endowing the Administrations with increasingly broad powers to the detriment of families as the first educators of their children.” They consider that with Lomloe, concerted education becomes in effect a subsidiary of public education.
