The military commanders will decide the minimum level that the academy students must reach to pass the course

The Department led by Margarita Robles has made this decision as a consequence of the paralysis of all military teaching activity, like the rest of the teachings, in the current state of alarm to deal with the coronavirus.

In a provision published this Friday by the Official State Gazette (BOE), the Chiefs of Staff of the Armies and the Navy and the Undersecretary of Defense, within the scope of their powers, are empowered to establish, with objective criteria, the minimum level to be reached in the various academic courses, to verify the knowledge acquired by the students.

“All this conditioned to the fact that the general and specific competences not reached can be obtained in subsequent courses or in the target units in the case of the last-year students”, he clarifies.

The provision also eliminates the obstacles so that the subjects that are possible are taught electronically. Until now, this procedure was only foreseen for students in pregnancy, childbirth or postpartum situations; but the Ministry opens the door for this training model to be extended to all students in the current situation.

Defense that “it is possible that at the end of the academic year 2019-2020 it has not been possible to teach all the subject matter provided for in it”, so it makes these decisions in order not to paralyze the academic progress of the students.
