The Mexican Minister of Tourism will have an "intense agenda" at the Fitur in Madrid

The secretary of Tourism of Mexico, Miguel Torruco, traveled this Sunday to Madrid to attend the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) where he will maintain an "intense agenda" to promote the Latin American country.
"The Secretary of Tourism of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, began a work trip to Madrid to attend Fitur, the International Tourism Fair of Spain, one of the most important business meetings of this industry worldwide," said the Ministry of Tourism in a statement.
Torruco "has an intense schedule of activities" in the Spanish capital that includes participation in round tables, meetings with businessmen, meetings with representatives of airlines, tour operators and hoteliers.
It will also be present at the XXII Ibero-American Conference of Tourism Ministers and Businessmen, during which they will hold bilateral meetings with their counterparts in Spain, Andorra, Cuba, Honduras, Jamaica and Argentina, among others, the Mexican Secretariat explained.
At the fair, the secretary will inaugurate the pavilions of Mexico, the Mexican Caribbean and the Mexican state of Guerrero, in addition to attending the presentation of a book of traditional gastronomy and the Mexican strategy for LGBT tourism.
The International Tourism Fair hopes to break visitor records in its new edition, which is held this week in Ifema and that is accompanied by many other tourist events such as the forums that organize, within its framework, the Alliance for Tourism Excellence, Exceltur, and the Hotusa group.
In 2020, Fitur, which will open the Queen next Wednesday and will close its doors on Sunday, January 26, turns forty, an anniversary that will be celebrated with a gala dinner on the eve of its opening, chaired by King Felipe VI.
This year the Madrid contest will bring together 918 regular exhibitors, 3.8% more than in 2019, and 11,040 companies from 165 countries and regions, which will occupy an area of 69,697 net square meters, 3.3% higher.
