The first statuettes of the 'goyas', created by Miguel Berrocal in Italy, weighed almost 15 kilos. It was a detachable sculpture that contained a cinematographic camera inside. As of the second edition, the manufacture of the trophy was entrusted to José Luis and Enrique Fernández. The weight of reduced to 3.5 kilos. Manufacturing is a sculptural and manual process. Molds are used, and the forms are perfected by hand. The bust in bronze of the painter is inspired by that of Marià Benlliure i Gil.
