The Supreme court has confirmed the sentence to 23 years and eight months in prison for Lluís Gros Martí, manager of several cinemas in towns in the Maresme region, for sexual abuse, corruption and prostitution of minors, between 13 and 17 years old, With whom he contacted on the pretext of offering them work to distribute publicity for one of the rooms he ran in El Masnou. Between 2007 and 2011, he had sexual encounters with children in exchange for money, from 30 to 50 euros. There are three victims and a fourth turned away when she tried to abuse him. Last July, a former student from Gros also denounced that he had suffered abuse when he was director of a school in Esplugues de Llobregat, as revealed by El Periódico de Catalunya.

The high court thus dismisses the appeal filed by the accused against judgment of the Hearing of Barcelona September 2019, in which he was convicted of three crimes of penetrative sexual abuse, another two crimes of prostitution and corruption of minors. In addition to the jail sentence, he was awarded compensation of 46,500 euros to the victims.

The Supreme Court maintains that “there is more than enough evidence” to consider the facts as proven, as reflected in the judgment of the Barcelona Court, at the same time that it specifies that its assessment “It meets the criteria of reasonableness and reasonableness.” The magistrates consider that the testimony of some of the victims “has been basic evidence to substantiate the conviction”, since, in the case of one of them, her testimony was “clear, structured and spontaneous”.

The “precarious” employment situation

In another case, the high court reports that the “evident sexual immaturity” of one of the 13-year-old victims, “The notorious difference” in age with that of the accused (47 years) and the “precarious” employment relationship contributed to the minor “lending himself to the sexual activity that was demanded of him, in exchange for a little more money. ” This child also suffered from a 34% cognitive deficit. The accused, says the Supreme Court, was aware that he had “at his disposal an easy victim.”

The sentence now confirmed details that Gros’s adventures began in 2007. In 2005, he hired a 15-year-old to deliver publicity and work in movies. About two years later, when he was 17 years old, the manager took him to dinner with a friend of the minor. “After dinner, Lluís hired the services of a prostitute,” says the resolution. The four went to the house of the condemned man. There the prostitute maintained relations with the children while the accused masturbated and tried to do fellatio with one.

In 2007, the convict hired a 13-year-old boy with a disability. In the following three years, the convict had about 15 sexual encounters with him, most of them in the cinema, and paid him between 30 and 50 euros each. “In the same way, Lluís asked the victim to introduce him to other minors to make the same type of sexual propositions.” The third abused child entered the defendant’s life in 2010.
