The manager in charge of nursing homes in the province of Badajoz resigns for not respecting the vaccination protocol

The territorial manager of the Extremadura Service for the Promotion of Autonomy and Care for Dependency (SEPAD) in the province of Badajoz, Montserrat Rincón, has resigned for "not respecting the vaccination protocol" having already received the first dose of the vaccine.
Sources from the Ministry of Health have informed EFE that Rincón received the first dose in early January. According to the newspaper Hoy, the dose was administered during a visit to the La Granadilla nursing home, in the capital of Bada, where he went to review the vaccination process for residents and workers.
SEPAD has among its functions the planning and organization of its centers and attached services, where residential centers are listed. The territorial managements, according to the website, are the peripheral bodies in charge of the development of programs and the provision of services for the promotion of personal autonomy, prevention and care of dependency in matters of active aging, disability and dependency on mental health and minors.
The Minister of Health and Social Policies, José María Vergeles, whose competences is precisely the SEPAD, questioned yesterday the refusal to offer the second dose of the vaccine to public and political officials who have skipped the immunization order. In addition, he insisted that the campaign in Extremadura is being "strict", although he defended that mayors and councilors who work in social health centers have already received the vaccine as front-line employees against COVID-19.
