The sixth edition of the LPA Trail will be held on Saturday, March 27, returning to its usual date after the forced postponement of 2020. The event, promoted by the Municipal Sports Institute of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, will open its registration period on next Monday, February 8, and will maintain the three distances and routes that were offered last year: Long (with 21 kilometers), Medium (13 kilometers) and Short (5.5 kilometers).
This test, in 2020, marked the return of mountain races on the island of Gran Canaria, and was a pioneer in the implementation of the new health protocols that have been repeated during the latest tests organized by Arista Eventos. Aridany Romero, Councilor for Sports, considers that the last edition of this event was “exemplary in safety matters” and encourages runners to sign up for this new appointment.
In 2021 the variation of the route that the passage through the surroundings of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will be conserved, considered a success by the participants. The Long modality will depart from the Plaza de Santa Ana; the Media will do it from El Fondillo; and La Corta, from the Albiturria area located in the Barranco de Guiniguada.
The registration period for the three races that make up this event will open at 12 noon next Monday, through the official website of the event: www.lpatrail.com. “This test aims to make visible the rural areas of the capital in a race that is a delight for runners,” says Romero.
