The second vice president of the Government and Minister of Social Rights and Agenda 2030, Pablo Iglesias, has announced that the first legislative measure that will be promoted from his department, that of child protection against the violence.
In an interview in La Sexta, Iglesias highlighted the joint work that the Government has done with pianist James Rhodes who led the claims of organizations working for children's rights in their request for a law to combat the violence they suffer Children and adolescents, who want to be ready "in weeks, more than months."
For Iglesias, Rhodes, who was a victim of sexual violence when he was a child, "has contributed valuable content to the law and can be an ambassador for the fight for the defense of children's rights throughout the world and that is going to make him clearly deserving of being Spanish, we are working in that direction. The Vice President of Social Rights has explained that this law should not only protect "the children of this country, but should be a world reference in the protection of children and adolescents and become one of the elements of define the action of this Government ".
Iglesias has expressed his desire that PP and Citizens support this law that will protect children "regardless of where they were born and the zip code in which they live."
James Rhodes, from his Twitter account, has asked to take advantage of the interest raised by the "Rhodes law" today to remember the urgency of its approval.
"Let us remember what the law is, how urgent it is and the shame of the children violated in Mallorca. There is a lot of work to do #nopuedenesperar @SaveChildrenEs," writes the activist.
