Alberto Cortez (Rancul, 1940) , the author of hits like "In a corner of the soul" or "When a friend leaves" has died in Madrid at age 79, just a year after visiting the Canary Islands in the framework of the Open Sea festival, which took place in the first half of April 2018. The Argentine singer-songwriter performed on that occasion on the stage of Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, to offer his island audience a recital of an hour and a half, included in his tour 'El regreso'.

Cortez, who made himself known in Spain during the sixties with the nickname of Mister Sucu Sucu, bAt that moment he gave an exclusive selection of the best of his more than 50 years of music career, interpreted in the most intimate way, with the mere accompaniment of the piano.
