The confederal executive committee of UGT, headed by its secretary general, Pepe Álvarez, has been received today in audience by his King in the palace of La Zarzuela, in Madrid, on the occasion of the union's 130th anniversary.
The act has served, among other issues, for value the role of the General Union of Workers throughout its 130 years of history and share the values and approaches of the union for the future, as stressed by this organization.
During the reception, Pepe Álvarez has sent him to the monarch a commemorative sculpture with the UGT logo framed by the words "equality, solidarity, rights and employment", as well as a copy of the manifesto approved on August 12, 2018 to mark the 130th anniversary of the union.
The event was also attended by the Secretary General of the Federation of Industry, Construction and Agriculture (UGT-FICA), Pedro Hojas, and the Secretary General of the Federation of Services, Mobility and Consumption (FeSMC-UGT), Miguel Ángel Cilleros . This was the one who disputed Alvarez's general secretary three years ago.
