The judge files the case of the sexual abuse suffered by Alejandro Palomas due to prescription of crime
The Court of Instruction number 3 of Mataró (Barcelona) has filed the case for alleged sexual abuse and violation of the writer Alexander Pigeons by a religious professor from La Salle de Premià de Mar, considering that the crimes have already prescribed.
On February 10, the Court of Instruction number 3 of Mataró opened preliminary proceedings following Palomas's complaint of having suffered sexual abuse by a professor at the Salle de Premià de Mar (Barcelona), and asked the Prosecutor's Office to report whether or not the facts had prescribed.
At the end of January, Palomas publicly denounced that at the age of 8 he was raped and suffered repeated sexual abuse by a professor at La Salle de Sea Award (Barcelona), and days later he formalized his complaint before the justice system.
Palomas (Barcelona, 1967), National Prize for Children's and Youth Literature and Nadal Prize 2018, revealed that La Salle's brother Jesús Linares, who was his teacher and tutor at La Salle de Premià de Mar, he raped him, masturbated him and touched him on multiple occasions when he was between 8 and 9 years old.
The magistrate transferred this complaint to the Prosecutor's Office, so that it could report on the prescription or not of the denounced facts, which occurred in the seventies.
As reported this Tuesday by the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC), the Court of Instruction number 3 of Mataró has filed the case, after the Public Prosecutor's Office has reported that the crimes have already prescribed and the judge has agreed with that criterion.
Leaving aside the judicial process, and based on this public complaint made by the writer, La Salle opened an investigation of the professor, who is now 91 years old and lives in a residence belonging to the congregation in Cambrils (Tarragona).
