The Valencian journalist and writer Marina Izquierdo has died in Miami (United States) for unknown reasons after having been briefly hospitalized for being ill, according to sources in her environment.
Marina Izquierdo has dedicated herself to journalism, teaching and narrative. Cultural journalist, communications director and professor of literature at Columbia University, Manhattanville College and the University of Malta, as well as the Instituto Cervantes and the Reina Sofía Institute, the author has stories and poems awarded and published in different anthologies .
Recently, the writer claimed the figure of the poet Gloria Fuertes and other women who were pioneers in fields such as literature, diplomacy or philosophy in his first play, 'Strong Women'.
The work, published by the publisher Lastura, is aimed especially at children and adolescents and aims to pay tribute to the career of Gloria Fuertes when it is a century of his birth, as well as other women that history has "silenced."
Izquierdo also won the Voces Nuevas de Poesía award from the Torremozas publishing house and his work 'La silencio silennciada' was finalist in the III Pilar Fernández Labrador International Poetry Prize to which 465 poems from 24 countries were presented.
