In front of the unoccupied seats of the Teatro Real, the boys and girls of the San Ildefonso school have sung the first prize of the Extraordinary Christmas Lottery: 72897.
Most of the series in this issue, which awards € 400,000 to each tenth, have been sold in Granada, Punta Umbría (Huelva) and Reus (Tarragona). Some series have also been sold in other parts of the country, such as Bilbao, Boñar (León), O Grove (Pontevedra) and in the famous administration of Doña Manolita, in Madrid, which has sold two series.
This year, the draw has distributed 28 million euros more than in the two previous editions, although it has maintained the amount for those tenth winners in second (125,000 euros), third (50,000 euros), fourth (20,000 euros) and fifth place ( 6,000 euros). Given the situation derived from the coronavirus crisis, the edition has warned a drop in physical sales only partially alleviated by the boom in online shopping. “It is being sold less”, already warned members of the administration that assure to have experienced a remarkable online growth.
The edition has distributed 26,322,880 prizes among the 172 million tickets issued by the administration. This issue reaches 3,440 million euros, of which 70% is distributed in prizes.
In addition to the masks and the distance between the participants, this year there was a presidential table made up of four people, instead of the five who do it on a regular basis, in order to ensure due compliance with safety regulations.
