the Insular Theater Hall (SIT) says goodbye to its 2020/21 season with the eighth edition of its Festival of Monologues (Saturdays 12 and 19 June) and the theatrical interpretation and writing workshops for young people, Sitúate, scheduled from the day 21. The actress Mari Carmen Sánchez, who participates in series of national and international success such as La casa de papel or Hierro, will act as master of ceremonies in the new edition of the aforementioned Festival.
Born in Cádiz, but settled in the Canary Islands since she was a child, Sánchez has extensive experience as a television and theater actress, which includes participation in other renowned projects, both audiovisual (El tiempo entre costuras, El Secreto de Puente Viejo, Aída ...) and scenic (Alceste or Siempre Alice, premiered at the Cuyás Theater).
Directed by Carlos Alonso Callero and produced by Ángulo Producciones, the Festival of Monologues is already a classic in the SIT programming, not in vain, it faces its eighth edition on June 12 and 19 at 7:30 p.m.
On this occasion, and under the common title of Tales of humor, love and death, Sánchez herself, Alberto San Luis, Silvia Padrón and Tania Rodríguez will be in charge of interpreting texts by Miguel Ángel Martínez, Bárbara Melisa Posesorski, Silvia Padrón, Jerónimo Falcón, Mónica Landolfi and Javier Estévez, who were selected by public announcement.
In addition, also at the SIT, this month will be held two workshops for young people called Sitúate. The first workshop, on theater writing and with a total duration of 12 hours, will take place on June 21, 22 and 23 in the afternoon (from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.), while the second, on interpretation, will be on June 28 , June 29 and 30, as well as July 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (4 p.m.). Coordinated by Gemma Quintana, and given by Luis O'Malley and Rubén Darío, respectively, both actions are aimed at adolescents who are starting in this field.
