El presidente de la Confederación Española de Hoteles y Alojamientos Turísticos (CEHAT), Juan Molas, ha calificado este martes de "lamentable" la huelga indefinida convocada por los taxistas en Madrid el día de la inauguración de Fitur, informa Europa Press. Molas ha afirmado que la Feria Internacional del Turismo, Fitur 2019, que abre sus puertas este miércoles y se inaugura este martes supone un "evento esperanzador para el sector" pero preocupante por la huelga del taxi.
El presidente de los hoteleros ha hecho estas declaraciones en la presentación en Madrid de los retos y desafíos de la Alianza de Municipios Turísticos de sol y playa, que representan el 20% de las pernoctaciones en España.
Ciudadanos defiende la "reconversión" del sector del taxi y la "libertad de elegir" de los usuarios, informa Elsa García de Blas.
El desayuno informativo que ha protagonizado este martes Albert Rivera en el Hotel Palace de Madrid, organizado por Nueva Economía Fórum, estaba patrocinado por Cabify, una de las empresas con las que el sector del taxi mantiene una agria disputa. El patrocinio no es solo para la conferencia del líder de Ciudadanos, sino para todas las que se celebran bajo el paraguas de este foro a partir de 2019. Pero a Rivera le ha tocado pronunciarse sobre el conflicto con el sector del taxi, que mantiene por segundo día consecutivo una huelga en Madrid y Barcelona, delante de un cartel con el logo de Cabify.
El líder de Ciudadanos ha defendido la "libertad de elección" de los consumidores entre los taxis y los VTC. En su opinión, el sector del taxi "se ha quedado atrás porque el Estado lo tiene hiperregulado". Su propuesta es una "reconversión" del sector tras un acuerdo entre las partes, y pide al Gobierno socialista que lidere esa mediación, y no se "lave las manos" cediendo esa competencia a las comunidades autónomas. Rivera insiste en que "no hay que mentir a los taxistas", porque el futuro es el que es. "En una década no habrá conductores, se está avanzando mucho en los coches autónomos", ha ejemplificado. Rivera no se esconde y reconoce que es usuario de Cabify. También del taxi. Ayer sufrió un escrache de taxistas en Atocha, que le increparon y abuchearon."¡Eres un moderno!", fueron algunos de los gritos que le dedicaron.

El Ayuntamiento de Madrid está "dispuesto a hacer lo que sea útil" para desbloquear el conflicto del taxi, por lo que ha convocado a este colectivo a una reunión a las 14.30 horas de este martes, según ha informado la alcaldesa de la capital, Manuela Carmena, informa Europa Press. La primer edil ha indicado que la delegada de Medio Ambiente y Movilidad, Inés Sabanés, "está en conversaciones con colectivos de taxistas", porque "el Ayuntamiento está dispuesto a hacer aquello que es útil", bien mediante una mediación o con la constitución de un grupo de trabajo entre Comunidad y Ayuntamiento.
Los trabajadores del sector de los vehículos de alquiler con conductor (VTC) consideran que cualquier acuerdo entre las administraciones y el taxi debe ser "respetuoso" con el trabajo de varias miles de personas, muchas de ellas mayores de 50 años, procedentes del paro de larga duración y que han encontrado en los VTC una posibilidad de trabajo, ha dicho el portavoz del Sindicato Libre de Transporte (SLT) José María Casallas, informa Efe. En una conversación telefónica, Casallas ha expresado su convencimiento de que "ambos sectores pueden convivir" y ha explicado cómo, con ocasión de la huelga indefinida que secundan los taxistas de la capital, los conductores tienen "mucho miedo por la violencia a que están siendo sometidos".
Casallas ha afirmado que más de medio centenar de VTC han sufrido la rotura de lunas, algunos con pasajeros dentro, y que este lunes en el aeropuerto de Barajas a algunos de estos vehículos les fue impedido el paso por parte de taxistas y que además algunos pasajeros de VTC fueron invitados por estos a abandonar los vehículos cuando ya los había abordado.
Los Mossos d'Esquadra investigan unas setenta denuncias por daños y agresiones ocurridos desde el pasado viernes en Barcelona en el marco de la huelga de los taxistas para protestar por el decreto del Govern para regular los vehículos de alquiler con conductor (VTC), informa Efe. Según han informado fuentes policiales, desde el pasado viernes los Mossos han recibido unas setenta denuncias por los incidentes relacionados con las protestas de los taxistas, en las que ha habido enfrentamientos con las fuerzas de seguridad y agresiones y daños a vehículos de VTC.

La alcaldesa de Madrid, Manuela Carmena, ha manifestado la disposición del Ayuntamiento de la capital "a hacer todo aquello que pueda ser útil" para resolver la huelga indefinida de los taxistas de la ciudad, que se inició a primera hora de este lunes, informa Efe. Carmena, que ha inaugurado esta mañana un nuevo centro de acogida municipal en Vallecas, ha afirmado que el Consistorio quiere ayudar "en la medida" de sus competencias a "aliviar la situación", y ha añadido que participaría en las mediaciones o grupos de trabajo que hicieran falta. La regidora ha apuntado que la delegada de Medio Ambiente y Movilidad, Inés Sabanés, "desde el día de ayer está en conversaciones con los colectivos de taxistas" y se reunirá a las 14.30 horas de este lunes con los principales colectivos de taxistas.
