The eightCanarian airportsreceived in September3,988,828 passengers,which is an increase of 1.2% over the same month of 2017. Of the total number of commercial passengers (3,962,406), 1,502,702 correspond to national traffic, with an increase of 11.4%, and 2,459. 704 to the international, with a decline of 3.9%, compared to October last year.

The airports of the Archipelago withincreased passenger traffic in Octoberwere Gran Canaria and Tenerife Sur, with 1,188,256 (0.9% more) and 979,022 (0.9%), respectively. They are followed by the Lanzarote airport, with 648,294 travelers (-2.5%), Fuerteventura, with 553,588 (-1.4%); Tenerife North, with 476,586 (10.3%); La Palma, with 115,551 (3.5%); El Hierro, with 21,753 (13%), and La Gomera, with 5,778 passengers and the largest percentage increase, 17.9% more.
With regard to thenumber of operations,the airports of the archipelago registered 35,887 movements in total, 6.9% more. Of the total commercial flights (34,358), 19,557 were national (14.9%) and 14,801 international (3.2%). Freight traffic registered more than 3,630 tonnes transported, 10.3% more than in October 2017.
So far this year the number of passengers registered at Canarian airports amounted to 37,535,843, 3.4% more than in the same period of 2017. Of the total commercial passengers (37,203,253), 14,262,145 corresponded to domestic flights, increasing last year's figure by 17.1% and international 22,941,108, with a decrease of 3.3%.
The number of operations registered during this period was 342,976 (10.8%) and the traffic of transported goods amounted to 30,911 tons (-0.5%).
