The incidence stagnates at 92 cases and Health notifies 4,040 new infections

The 14-day incidence rate stagnated this Tuesday and stood at 92.25 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Yesterday it stood at 92.46 points. This indicator maintains a downward trend that began at the end of April, when the peak of the fourth wave was reached, and is located at the levels of the beginning of August. However, in recent weeks the decline has been easing.

The Ministry of Health has reported in its latest daily report 4,040 new infections of COVID-19, which represents a slight decrease compared to Friday, when 4,214 positives were reported. Yesterday, Monday, 7,209 cases were registered, although the number corresponded to those registered during the weekend. Since the beginning of the health crisis, 3,768,691 people have been infected.

The autonomous communities with the highest increases are Catalonia, with 1,150 new infections; Andalusia, with 923; and Madrid, with 501.

There have also been 30 deaths in the last 24 hours, up from 37 yesterday, which brings the total number of deaths from COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic to 80,719.

This is how post-pandemic residences must be

Neither hotels, nor hospitals: homes, houses, homes. This is how the nursing homes of the future post-pandemic should be, according to the model presented by the Association of Directors and Managers of Social Services this Monday in Madrid. “Nobody was prepared for what happened in 2020, but this is the moment, now we have the opportunity to prepare”, defended José Manuel Ramírez, president of the Association. Afterwards, they met with the director of the Imserso (which belongs to the Ministry of Social Rights), Luis Barriga, a former member of the Association’s board of directors, to introduce him.

There is harmony between both parties and it seems that they can reach a “hopeful” consensus, according to Imserso sources after the meeting. Directors and Managers are also going to talk these weeks with the communities and with actors in the sector, in which the association has been a benchmark for almost 30 years. The objective is to present a consensus document in October to implement the autonomies, with competencies in the area, and private companies.
