The IMF and WB will hold their “virtual” meeting in April for fears of coronavirus

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) announced Tuesday that they will hold their next spring meeting, scheduled for mid-April, “virtual” for fears of the global expansion of the coronavirus.

“Given the growing health concern related to the virus, the IMF and WB management as well as its Executive Boards have agreed to implement a joint plan to adapt their Spring Assembly to a virtual format,” both institutions said in a statement signed by its directors, Kristalina Georgieva and David Malpass, respectively.
