The ICHH transfers its equipment to the Gando Air Base to promote blood donation
The Canarian Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy (ICHH), dependent on the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, moves its equipment during this week until the Gando Air Base, in the municipality of Telde, in the non-commissioned officer room, being today and until Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.. It is an initiative that aims to respond to the needs of this group, which is also one of the most collaborative and deeply rooted when it comes to donating blood.
The basic requirements to donate blood are to be in good general health, be between 18 and 65 years old, weigh more than 50 kilograms and, in the case of women, not be pregnant. Where to donate in Gran Canaria
In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria a new donation point in the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium. Donor service hours will be today from 10.15 to 14.00 and from 16.45 to 21.00, and from tomorrow there will be withdrawals from 09.45 to 14.00 and from 16.45 to 21.00. In the municipality of Ingenio, at the headquarters of the Las Mahoreras Folkloric Association, the blood donation device is still active, whose hours are Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., and Thursday and Friday from 10.00 to 13.45. This campaign will last until July 8.
In Santa Lucía de Tirajana, the extraction point located in the Atlántico Shopping Center will continue to operate. with hours from Monday to Wednesday from 4.15 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. and on Friday from 9.15 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., and from 4.15 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. In addition, it will be possible to continue donating in Telde, at the point located in the Alcampo Shopping Center, next to the Lottery Administration. Today extractions are carried out from 10:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., while on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday the device will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. This campaign will run until July 2.
Regarding the fixed points blood collection, the ICHH makes its headquarters available to the population in the street at Alfonso XIII, number 4, in the capital of Gran Canaria, from Monday to Friday from 8.15 to 14.45 and from 15.45 to 21.15. You can also go, in general, to other fixed points of the Canarian Transfusion Network such as the Canary Islands Maternal-Infant University Hospital. Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:30; the University Hospital of Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín, Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm and from 2.00 pm to 7.30 pm; and the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria, where you can donate from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00.
