The suspended dust will spread throughout the Archipelago and will last several days, which has led the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands to declare the pre-alert for haze on the Island based on the predictions of the Aemet and other sources available and in application of the Specific Emergency Plan of the Canary Islands for Risks of Adverse Meteorological Phenomena (Pefma).

The alert will be in force from 6:00 p.m. on this Monday of Carnival, February 15. The haze concentration will be variable, could be very dense at some point and it will reduce visibility in some areas notably, warns the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands.
