The Goyas start with a moment of silence for victims of covid

Malaga, Mar 6 (EFE) .- The 35th edition of the Goya awards has started tonight with a moment of silence for the victims of the covid pandemic that Antonio Banderas has introduced on the stage of the Soho Theater in Malaga, accompanied by a giant multiscreen for the 166 nominees this year, connected telematically.

"My first thought is for the film family," Banderas said as soon as he went on stage, "the nominees are the true protagonists."

With a very slow and solemn tone, the Malaga actor has assured that he has thought a lot about "his role" and the role of the cinema, in general, "in front of the host of events" due to the health situation.

"We are storytellers and that is what we will do, we will tell the story of these days trying to understand how it has affected us, the depth of the open wounds," he said before introducing a moment of silence.
