The Government has marked as a priority for 2019 the recovery of the centralization program of the payment of state taxes of the Catalan public sector that eliminated the Government of Mariano Rajoy in application of the 155.
The Vice President and Minister of Economy, Pere Aragonès, announced today that the Government is willing to reactivate this program, which became known as "the processor", because it considers that it was eliminated without legal arguments, since it derives from the competences collected in the Estatut.
"We do not have a timetable, but it is one of our priorities for 2019. It is a decision that the Generalitat can make in accordance with the Statute and the ministry has nothing to say about it, it is our self-organizing power," affirmed Aragonès in the press conference on the balance sheet of the Tax Agency of Catalonia (ATC).
The program suppressed by the Executive of Rajoy unified the processing of the payment to the State of the taxes of the Catalan public companies and their related entities, management that should fall to the Catalan Tax Agency, which in this way gained more muscle.
After assuring that the elimination of this program was a "political decision", Aragonès has been convinced that the centralized management of the payment of these state taxes is a measure of economic "efficiency" and, therefore, is positive.
The conseller pointed out that the decision to recover "the processor" has not been made until now because the territorial deployment of the offices of the ATC had been prioritized.
