The Government will give tax incentives to companies with women in their councils

The Ministry of Finance prepares a new deduction in the corporate tax of which will benefit those companies that incorporate women to their councils of administration. According to the draft Law of General State Budgets of 2019 and explained the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, during the press conference presentation, companies that increase the number of women on your council may be deducted up to 10 % of the remuneration of the new directors in the corporate tax.

The objective is to facilitate the incorporation of women to councils and to comply with the equality law. For example, only in the Ibex 35 companies women in management positions represent 19.4%, according to the first study on the presence of women in the top management of the Ibex 35 companies prepared by the Spanish Association of Executives and Councilors (EJE & CON) and Atrevia.

Specifically, the data show that women make up only 23.5% of the board of directors (110 of 469 people), 13.6% of the management committees (69 of 507 people), 8.8% of the presidencies (3 of 34 people) and only 3.7% of the CEOs ( 1 of 27 people).
