The Government will allocate one million euros to scholarships to oppose judge and prosecutor

According to the detail of the Budgets, most of this item will go to those who prepare oppositions to judge and prosecutor with more than one million euros, along with more than 350,000 euros for those who aspire to be lawyers in the Administration of Justice and finally almost 80,000 euros for those who try to be part of the State Bar. The data from the latest calls show that almost 4,300 people presented themselves to the judge and prosecutor and that 245 did so to the Lawyers' Office.

The presentation document assures that these scholarships are launched "so that everyone can access judicial bodies with equal opportunities. This scholarship system democratizes equal access, which many applicants could not have otherwise." The announcement of the scholarships is also linked to a new job offer with 200 new places to enter the judicial and prosecutorial careers.

María Jesús Montero, Minister of Finance, referred to this item at the press conference to present the Budgets. It is "a new program for applicants" to all of these positions. They are competitive examinations, he said, "which require many years of study and are positions that are difficult to access for a good part of the students who cannot afford that preparation."

The Minister of Justice, Pilar Llop, already referred to the scholarship system in Congress last September 9. He said then that the aid system would facilitate access to the Administration of Justice "in equal opportunities" not only for judges and prosecutors but also for the body of lawyers of the Administration and for the State Lawyers with "a reserve for people with disability".

The document also states that the budget for Justice increases by 11.5% to 2,284 million euros. The money allocated to the participation of the General Council of the Judiciary also grows within this item, with 76 million euros, which represents an increase of 4.2 percent with respect to the previous budgets. Of this money, a total of 210 million are budgeted within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan for channeling European funds to alleviate the effects of the pandemic.

These funds linked to European aid are intended, says the presentation of the Budgets, "to improve the capacity of the Spanish Justice to contribute to social cohesion, economic and business dynamism, as well as the reduction of its general costs. of operation through its digital transformation ".

As revealed by elDiario.es in this report, Spanish judges and prosecutors charge up to 4,000 euros per month to prepare opponents of these processes without answering to the Treasury for these gains. Where some preparers declare these earnings, other legal professionals charge each student between 100 and 200 euros per month without having led to inspections for possible tax fraud.
