The Government will address the axes of budgets and aid for the floods in Mallorca

The Government will analyze today the axes of the project of law of general budgets of the State for 2019 that has been finalizing in the last hours with Podemos and will begin the procedures to allocate aid to those affected by the recent floods in Mallorca.

The usual weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers is held on this occasion on Thursday because on Friday, October 12, the National Holiday is celebrated.

The Chief Executive, Pedro Sanchez, will preside over the meeting of his Cabinet, which will be attended by all its members except the Minister of Justice, Dolores Delgado, who participates in Luxembourg in an EU meeting with his European counterparts.

A few days before the Government has to send the general guidelines of the 2019 budgets to Brussels (it must do so before October 15), this matter will be present at the Council meeting.

The Government and Podemos have been negotiating during the week, and at the end of the afternoon yesterday, Sánchez met at the Palacio de la Moncloa with the leader of the purple formation, Pablo Iglesias.

A meeting to finalize the budget agreement in which the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, and the secretary of Organización de Podemos, Pablo Echenique, have also been working intensively.

In addition, the Government will begin today the procedures for the declaration of catastrophic zone of the region of the Llevant de Mallorca after the floods by torrential rains that came to discharge up to 230 liters of water per square meter.

Floods that have killed ten people while a 5 year old child is still missing.

Sánchez visited yesterday the affected area and announced that the Council of Ministers will begin today the processing of the declaration of catastrophic zone and the immediate start-up of economic aid.

For this, the Government will analyze today two reports, one from the Ministry of the Interior and another from the Department of Territorial Policy.
