The Government extends the expiration of ITVs for another fifteen days

The validity period of ITV certificates for vehicles whose next inspection date is in the alarm state is extended by fifteen calendar days for each week elapsed from the beginning of this period until the certificate had expired.

The BOE publishes this Saturday an order, which comes into force today, by which the automatic extension that had already been stipulated in a previous regulation for vehicle technical inspection certificates until thirty calendar days after the end of alarm state.

This extension of a further fifteen days is intended to facilitate the high number of periodic technical inspections of vehicles that have been pending after the declaration of the state of alarm.

The following table reflects the staggered schedule to pass the ITV:

Initial Inspection Date Extension Period

Week 1: March 14-20, 30 days plus 15 additional days

Week 2: March 21-27, 30 days plus 2 15-day periods

Week 3: March 28 to April 3, 30 days plus 3 periods of 15 days

The previous periods will not apply to the validity of the certificates of periodic technical inspection of agricultural vehicles destined for work in the field, which will be extended until November 10, 2020.
