The Governing Council approves the appointment of Ángel Tristán Pimienta as president of the Social Council of the ULPGC


The Governing Council, at the proposal of the Minister of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports, Manuela Armas, has approved today, Thursday, November 25, the decree of appointment of Angel Tristan Pepper as president of the Social Council of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), as well as the decree that provides for the dismissal of Jesús León Lima in that position, after having submitted his resignation.

Likewise, it has been agreed to appoint Tristán Pimienta, former director of LA PROVINCIA, as a member of the Social Council of the ULPGC in representation of social interests by the Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports, after having agreed to declare the cessation of Maria Rosa Suarez Vega in his position, according to the provisions of the Law on Social Councils and Coordination of the Canary Islands University System.

Tristán Pimienta already presided over the Social Council of the ULPGC in 2015, and has also served as Vice President of the body. He was a member of the Promoting Commission that promoted this university and is a journalist by profession.
