The Gijón Film Festival closes its 58th edition by announcing the 29 winners in the different categories that have been announced this Saturday by Graciela Olivares. Thus culminates a contest that has been held despite the atypical circumstances experienced as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, which has caused its programming and activity to be adapted from the face-to-face format to the digital one.
After nine days in which viewers have been able to access its programming through platforms such as Filmin or Festhome, the jury has determined that the big winner of the edition is the feature film First cow by Kelly Reichardt, award for best film in the Albar section (for established filmmakers). On the other hand, the Retueyos section (for first, second and third feature films) has fallen to the Spanish film 9 leaks, from Cortizo Funds, and and Polish Marygoround, by Daria Woszek when we have the information.
Without further ado, we compile the full record of the 58th edition of the Gijón International Film Festival.
