The general director of Fine Arts of Iceta, Dolores Jiménez-Blanco, resigns
Dolores Jiménez-Blanco this afternoon presented her resignation as general director of Fine Arts to the Minister of Culture, Miquel Iceta, as confirmed by this newspaper from sources at the top of the ministry. The art historian took office in September 2020, at the proposal of the then minister of the field, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes. Jiménez-Blanco will remain in his position until the end of the year.

The problem with the current ministerial team, according to these sources, has exploded with the request of some autonomous communities for archaeological jewels deposited in the National Archaeological Museum. The pieces in conflict are the Lady of Elche, the Ley Flavia Malacitana (five bronze plates from Roman times) or the bulls of Costix (Talayotic bronzes). On the table, the manager has reports that contradict the transfer and Jiménez-Blanco refuses to move them from their place of custody and conservation, despite pressure from the Iceta team.
