The movie The kingdom, by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, and the series for television Arde Madrid, directed by Paco León and Anna R. Costa, monopolize the candidatures of the VI edition of the Feroz Awards, granted by the Association of Cinematographic Informants of Spain (AICE), whose gala will be held on January 19 in Bilbao. The reading of the nominations has counted with the participation of Javier Ambrosi and Javier Calvo, the directors of The call, that last year they won the Feroz prize for the best comedy, as well as with the president of the association, the Cadena Ser journalist, María Guerra.
The film by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, The kingdom, that delves into the depths of corruption in the Valencian Community, leaves like the great favorite in the section of cinema with ten candidatures, among them the one of better dramatic film, direction, script and original music. Who will sing to you, by Carlos Vermut, has received eight nominations, followed by Everybody knows, from Iranian Asghar Farhadi, with six and Petra, directed by Jaime Rosales, with five candidatures. The movies Champions, by Javier Feser, Carmen and Lola, written and directed by Arantxa Echevarría, and Trip to a mother's room, of Celia Rico, leave with four nominations each.
Within the category of comedy television series, Arde Madrid, the story about the years that the American actress spent in the capital of Spain in the sixties, part as a favorite with seven candidacies, among them, most of the actors participating in it: Paco León, Inma Cuesta, Anna Castillo, Fabiana García Lago, Debbie Mazar and Julián Villagrán. In the section of dramatic series, Tomorrow, by Mariano Barroso, has obtained five nominations, among them that of its protagonist Oriol Pla.
Two actors and two actresses have been nominated twice. So Barbara Lennie is a candidate for best supporting actress for the movie Everybody knows and to better protagonist for Petra, while Anna Castillo has been for her work in Arde Madrid and in the film Trip to a mother's room. Also Javier Rey (leading actor for Endless and the series Fariña) and Javier Gutiérrez (candidate for best protagonist for Champions and the series Shame) they start with two candidates each.
In the section of best female performer protagonist will compete with Bárbara Lennie, Penélope Cruz (Everybody knows), Lola Dueñas (Trip to a mother's room), Alexandra Jiménez (The distances) and Eva Llorach (Who will sing to you). On the other hand, Javier Gutiérrez and Javier Rey will do it with Javier Bardem (Everybody knows), José Coronado (Your son) and Antonio de la Torre (The kingdom).
The gala of this VI edition of the awards granted by the Association of Cinematographic Informants of Spain, of which the name of the presenter or presenter is not yet known, will be held in Bilbao (Bilbao Arena) on January 19. In the reading of the candidatures there has been a welcome message from the Mayor of Bilbao, Juan Mari Aburto, in which he described this ceremony, which for the first time will take place outside Madrid, as an occasion of "happiness and illusion" for the city .
