The FIA ​​sanctions Racing Point – La Provincia with the loss of 15 points

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) sanctioned with the loss of 15 points in the Constructors’ World Cup and a fine of 400,000 euros to the team Racing Point, after estimating the three protests presented by Renault that it considered that their cars did not comply with the regulations.

The French team filed claims against the Racing Points, whose resemblance to the 2019 Mercedes have sparked some controversy, following the Grand Prix of Styria, Hungary and Great Britain, for irregularities in the brake lines, which claimed to be a direct copy of those of the ‘silver arrows’, and the FIA ​​has ended up giving the reason.

The agency fined 400,000 euros, 200,000 for each of the two cars, and with the loss of 15 points, 7.5 for each car, but only in the Constructors’ WorldTherefore, both the Mexican Sergio Pérez (22) and the Canadian Lance Stroll (20) keep theirs in the Drivers’ World Championship.

The FIA ​​stewards indicated that these RP20 conduits they were not designed according to the regulations for the 2020 season and with this sanction he intended to “penalize the potential advantage that Racing Point could have accumulated” in this design process.
