The Canary Islands Religious Music Festival modifies its usual dates of celebration, prior to Easter, and moves its 16th edition to the summer months due to the current health situation and the evolution of epidemiological data in the Canary Islands.
Specifically, the new cultural event will take place in August and September and includes the celebration of a total of 20 concerts in different parts of the Archipelago.
Among the list of invited artists, the Portuguese group O Bando de Surunyo stands out, which will offer pieces about the Franco-Flemish composer Josquin Deprez and his Iberian contemporaries, and the soprano Tania Lorenzo and Setteceto, who will perform Haädel’s German Arias.
The Tenerife Antigua group will also perform, which will dedicate its concerts to a monographic program on the Italian composer Antonio Caldara, and the Ainur Chamber Choir, with which we will be able to make a musical journey from classical polyphony to the present day.
The Festival of Religious Music of the Canary Islands once again consolidates its long history and international prestige after 15 years of work thanks to the collaboration of the Government of the Canary Islands, councils and different municipalities involved, as well as the Nivariense and Canary Islands Dioceses, and ecclesiastical temples that they host the concerts.
