International FootballTOThey say in a statement that professional football is in danger
LThe European Leagues Association, which represents most of the continent's professional national competitions, including LaLiga, Premier League and Serie A has issued a statement rejecting the possible creation of a closed club Super League.
In the letter they speak of their "strong opposition" to the increasingly insistent rumors about the future of European club football. "The leagues support the European sport model based on a pyramid structure, with promotions and descents, and in which the sporting merits of the clubs are the core of any competition", they affirm.
"A closed Super League will have serious and lasting implications for the long-term sustainability of professional football in Europe," they say in their statement, in which they show their support for UEFA and its competitive balance model.
