The European Commission fined Google with 1,490 million euros for abusing domain ads



The European Commission (EC) on Wednesday imposed a fine of 1,490 million euros to Google for abusing its dominant position in the online advertising market through its AdSense for Search service.

This sanction, the third and least significant that Brussels inflicts on the technological giant in less than two years for violating EU antitrust rules, is due to the fact that it imposed "restrictive clauses" in contracts with third-party websites that prevented its rivals from placing their own ads related to searches.
