The Canary Islands Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy (ICHH) this week carries out its traditional tour of the different centers of El Corte Inglés in Gran Canaria, a campaign developed jointly within the framework of the corporate social responsibility of the commercial company, reported this Thursday from the Ministry of Health of the regional government.
Since 2005, El Corte Inglés collaborates with the work carried out by the ICHH through the organization each year of two blood donation campaigns, with the participation of more than a hundred workers, detailed the same sources through a press release.
On this occasion, the ICHH made an intervention on Monday, November 5, at the facilities of El Corte Inglés in the industrial estate of El Goro and this Thursday it takes place inside the Mesa y López avenue shop of the Gran Canaria capital.
In this way, the health entity approaches the donation to the different companies with social responsibility, facilitating their staff the exercise of an act of solidarity such as blood donation, they continued from the ICHH before thank the permanent collaboration of El Corte Inglés.
The basic requirements to be a blood donor are to enjoy good health, weigh more than 50 kilos and be of age, recalled from the ICHH before pointing out that if this gesture is done regularly contributes to the sustainability of the health system .
In addition, the ICHH offers the population the possibility to donate at fixed points as its headquarters on the street in Alfonso XIII, number 4, in the capital of Gran Canaria (Monday to Friday from 8.15 to 21.30 hours) or the Roca Clinic of Santa Lucía de Tirajana (Tuesday from 15.45 to 20.15 and Wednesday from 8.45 to 13.30).
You can also go to other fixed points of the Canary Transfusional Network such as the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria (Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.), the Maternal and Child University Hospital (Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.) and the University Hospital of Gran Canaria Doctor Negrin (Monday to Friday from 8.15 at 8 pm and Sunday, November 11, from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 9 pm).
