The EDF puts into service five solar power stations of 101 megawatts in Israel



French power company EDF today announced the entry into service in Israel of five photovoltaic solar power plants that together have an installed power of 101 megawatts, all located in the Negev desert.

The 307,400 solar panels of the five facilities (Mashabei Sadeh, Pduyim, Mefalsim, Kfar Maimon and Bitha) cover an area of ​​about 130 hectares, EDF said in a statement.

Four of them produce electricity at 47 euros per megawatt hour, the lowest tariff in Israel.

With these new plants, the French group exploits a total of 17 in Israel, which represent a capacity of about 300 megawatts.
