The ECB lowers the rate to bank deposits by 10 points, to -0.50%

The European Central Bank (ECB) has decided to modify its interest rates for the first time since 2016 by cutting 10 basis points at the deposit facility rate, to stand at -0.5%, while leaving the reference interest rate at 0% and the loan facility at 0.25%.

Likewise, the monetary authority has also announced that it resumes net purchases of assets, worth 20,000 million euros per month from November 1 for an indeterminate period.
