The ECB fails to quell fear of the coronavirus and the Nikkei falls 1.04%

The Nikkei index of the Tokyo Stock Exchange closed today with losses of 1.04%, despite the stimulus package announced by the European Central Bank (ECB), which was not enough to allay the concern about the coronavirus.

The Nikkei benchmark index fell 173.72 points, that 1.04%, to 16,552.83 points. On the other hand, the Topix, which groups the firms in the first section, those with the largest capitalization, rose again, 12.38 points on this day, 0.97%, to 1,283.22 units.
