Dr. Javier Flandes, associate head of pulmonology at the University Hospital Fundación Jiménez Díaz, only puts a stick to the work he has developed in the Recover Foundation. "Choosing the patients we are going to treat is the hardest thing, we select them according to the severity of their illness and we value that the intervention can be done once and they do not have to leave their country again". This doctor has operated on three patients who could have been treated at the Jiménez Díaz Foundation and the Hospital Quirón Salud of Albacete thanks to the work of this NGO, which in its 12 years of activity has managed to get 150 Africans treated in Spain. The chosen ones come from lists of more than 600 candidates that are drawn up in the field from which the 10 beneficiaries leave. They could be more, but there is no money.
