The Diocese of the Canary Islands announced this Wednesday the suspension this year of the Holy Week processions in the province of Las Palmas for the coronavirus pandemic. Similar measures have been taken in other areas of Spain.

In a decree published this Wednesday, Bishop José Mazuelos Pérez clarifies that the suspension affects acts outside the churches, and that “the celebration of Holy Week has not been suppressed”, so he urges the faithful to live this period “with intensity and devotion.”
