The Davos Forum is postponed to next summer due to Covid-19

Covid-19 continues to mark the world agenda and the threat of the pandemic has forced a historic postponement of the Davos Forum, which should take place at the end of next January. In an official statement, the World Economic Forum has announced that the annual meeting that brings together the world elites in the famous Swiss ski resort will be postponed until next summer. However, it has not specified the new dates that will be communicated soon, and that condition the existence of enough security so that neither the guests nor the inhabitants of the Swiss town that hosts this annual event take risks.

Since the organization of the Forum they have highlighted that «The decision has not been easy to make due to the urgent need of the great world leaders to jointly design the path for a common recovery and shape the Great Reboot in the post-covid-19 era. In this sense, they have explained that experts have advised that «The conditions are not met to celebrate the Forum in the safest way ».

In the Week of January 25, on the dates when the forum traditionally takes place at the Swiss ski resort in the heart of the Alps, a digital version of the “Dialogues” will take place in which global leaders will give their views on the world situation in 2021.

The organization of Davos forum has assured that they continue to work on different projects and collaborations with civil society actors and governments around the world such as the “Forum Covid Action Platform” that monitors the pandemic and its consequences. Or the “Sustainable Development Impact Summit” whose programming is currently held for September 21 and 24 in Cologny (Switzerland).
