The Cuyás Theater will expand the capacity of its shows after the decision of the Government of the Canary Islands to lower the alert level for Covid-19 in Gran Canaria from 3 to 2.

The Gran Canaria Cabildo site thus begins its particular de-escalation, while maintaining all the necessary measures to carry out its activity safely.

To avoid damage to viewers, the measure will be flexible and will be reviewed weekly based on the current epidemiological situation and the instructions given at all times by the health authorities.

In any case, the new capacity will always remain below the 55 percent allowed at the current alert level in cinemas, theaters, auditoriums and stable cultural spaces. In addition, the existence of two free seats between the groups of seats available within the same row (which will continue to be for one, two or three people) and another free seat in front of and behind each occupied seat will continue to be guaranteed.

In recent months, the Cuyás Theater has only offered 280 of its 943 seats for its functions, that is, less than a third of the total. Of these, 278 were conventional seats and two were seats for people with reduced mobility (PRM). With the changes now introduced, the maximum occupancy percentage will rise to 47.30 percent (446 locations), although in any case compliance with current regulations and due respect for social distance will continue to be guaranteed.
