The confidence of Spanish businessmen facing the first quarter of 2019 falls 1% compared to the fourth quarter of the previous year, and it chains two consecutive quarters in negative rates. According to the indicator published this Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), confidence falls among entrepreneurs in all sectors analyzed, except in construction, where it grows 0.1%.
With respect to the quarter that begins and according to the indicator of expectations, the 16.6 of the managers of business establishments considers that the progress of their business will be favorable, while 19.3% think the opposite and 64.1% expects normality .
In relation to the fourth quarter of 2018 already completed, 21.6 of the managers of business establishments consider that it has been favorable, while 17.2% value the period with pessimism and 61.2% place it within the normal.
The The biggest drop in confidence occurs in the transport and hospitality sector (3.3%), followed by industry (0.9%), other services (0.8%) and trade (0.7%).
According to the size of the companies, the loss of confidence is greater among micro-enterprises (less than 10 employees) with a decrease of 2.1%, followed by those with between 200 and 999 workers (0.9%). Single in large companies with more than 1,000 employees, trust increases, 0.6%.
By Autonomous Communities, in the first quarter the greatest decreases in confidence occurred in the Balearic Islands (3.9%), Cantabria (3.6%), Extremadura and the Canary Islands (2.9% both), and Galicia (2.7%). ).
The only increases in business confidence are in Murcia (1.5%), Madrid (1%) and Navarre (0.4%).
